Dr. Horan brings her extensive family therapy knowledge to assist families in developing healthier family systems. Her experience working with conduct disorder and oppositional patients makes her a vital resource to the multi-disciplinary team. Dr. Horan has created programming and directed units in various residential treatment programs, as well as worked in behavioral health hospital settings and private practice. Dr. Horan has spent a large portion of her career training doctoral psychology interns and clinicians creating effective therapeutic interventions to be utilized with difficult patients and families.
Dr. McGrath has been recognized as a world renowned expert in Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD). His extensive training and expertise working with Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy and Anxiety Disorders were fundamental in the development of the School Refusal/School Anxiety program. Dr. McGrath has authored several books and publications including a stress management workbook called, Don’t Try Harder, Try Different, and The OCD Answer Book. Dr. McGrath has also been featured in many newspapers, journals, magazines, and has been on numerous radio and television programs across the country.
Jacqueline A. Rhew, MA, LPC, CADC
Partial Hospitalization Program Clinical Coordinator
Ms. Rhew has been instrumental in the development of the School Anxiety School Refusal Program since its inception in 2007. Working closely with educational supports and schools, she brings a unique and special service to the clients and their families. Ms. Rhew has worked in hospital, educational, and private practice settings, both in the Chicagoland area and overseas, including South America and the Middle East. She has co-authored several publications, including School Refusal in Children and Adolescents. Ms. Rhew has been featured on both ABC Channel 7 and CBS Channel 2 newscasts highlighting her work with adolescents struggling with avoidant school behaviors as well as bullying in the schools.
Robin Boggs Choquette, MA, LCPC
Partial Hospitalization Program Senior Therapist
Ms. Choquette is a Clinical Psychology doctoral student at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and has extensive experience working with families, adolescents, couples, adults, and athletes. Her style encourages parental empowerment in the family through her effective, no nonsense approach to purposeful parenting. Her experience working with athletes and sports performance brings a unique addition to the team. Ms. Choquette has worked in hospital, college and private practice settings for over a decade. She is also a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Illinois Psychological Association (IPA), and is actively involved in her community through the Exchange Club of Naperville and as a board member of Project H.E.L.P. of DuPage County.
Thuy Pham, Psy.D.
Senior Therapist
Dr. Pham is a licensed clinical psychologist with experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. Prior to her current position, Dr.Pham was an Associate Director of Training and Core Faculty at the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. There she taught clinical practicum and community service seminars, and provided assistance to graduate students applying for clinical practicum and internship. Over the years Dr. Pham has worked in a variety of settings including a therapeutic day school, inpatient and outpatient hospitals, a residential facility, research institutions, and private practice. Dr. Pham has experience providing individual therapy and psychological assessments for adolescents and children with emotional and behavioral issues.
Kathy Berger, MSW
Therapist
Ms. Berger obtained her Master’s Degree of Social Work after successfully guiding her family-owned and operated specialty food business into an industry leader by serving as the National Sales Manager for over 13 years. As such, she brings a unique skill set and philosophy to the program. Kathy has honed her talents as a therapist in a variety of hospital settings including inpatient, PHP, and IOP levels of care. She is experienced in crisis intervention, individual, family, and group work with adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, behavioral, and substance abuse issues. In addition to caring for her three children, her passions include providing quality, supportive, collaborative care to the individuals, couples, and families she counsels.
