Grief Support

Individual

Short term individual counseling is available through Alexian Brothers Hospice. Alexian Brothers Parish Services and the Outpatient Group Practice at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital provide longer term counseling for individuals or families in the Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, and Elk Grove communities. Group

Alexian Brothers Parish Services provide several 6 week grief support groups as well as monthly support groups throughout the year. Alexian Brothers Hospice provides drop in support groups once a month at the Cancer Institute at both Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village and St Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates.

Workshops

Various workshops on grief and caregiver support are offered throughout the year through Alexian Brothers Hospice and Alexian Brothers Parish Services. To attend a workshop or to request a workshop for your parish or group, please contact Hospice or Parish Services.

Alexian Brothers Medical Center offers a Grief Support Line at 1-847-952-7376 for anyone needing support or information about bereavement services in the area.

Memorial Services

Alexian Brothers Medical Center offers quarterly memorial services in January, April, July, and October. The Memorial Mass and an Interfaith Memorial Services are held in the Maddalena and Charles Pastika Memorial Chapel of the Immaculate Conception with refreshments available in the Cafeteria following each service.  Call the Grief Support Line for specific dates and times.
