Each staff member at the Illinois Gamma Knife Center at Alexian Brothers Neurosciences Institute has been specially trained in stereotactic radiosurgery using the Gamma Knife. Our leading experts have trained at pioneering Gamma Knife centers in Stockholm, Sweden (where the Gamma Knife originated) and Pittsburgh, PA.

Your multidisciplinary treatment team will consist of a neurosurgeon, radiation oncologist, physicist, and a nurse. Together they will design a unique Gamma Knife treatment plan just for you based on existing imaging studies, medical history, and patient health.

Referring physicians are considered active partners in the Gamma Knife treatment process. They are informed of their patients’ initial evaluation results, treatment status, and progress noted on follow-up studies. Patients are returned to the care of their referring physician after Gamma Knife treatment is completed.
